Martin L. Schoffstall, Managing Director

Martin is currently the Managing Partner of Schoffstall Ventures. Martin is an 18-year veteran of multiple Internet startups and co-owner of a number of Internet standards including the Internet network management standard, SNMP.

Mark S. Fedor, Director

Prior to joining PSINet in 1990, Mark was a member of the technical staff at NYSERNet where he co-authored the Internet Standard Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). From 1986 through 1987, Mark was a member of the networking group at the Cornell Theory Center which developed and operated the first phase of the NSFNET backbone. At the Cornell Theory Center, Mark designed and implemented “gated”, the first multi-routing protocol process for the NSFNET backbone. “gated” technology is still embedded in many present-day routers. Mark has participated in various IETF working groups and co-developed Internet technology innovations with various vendors since 1986.

Mark also is on the Technical Advisor Boards of Zhone Technologies and Vpacket Communications.

Dean M. Kline, Vice President

Dean Kline is the former Executive Vice President of CURE International which establishes hospitals in developing countries. Prior to that he served as the Assistant to the Executive Director at the World Bank, and was responsible for improvement of loan quality, the education and health sectors, and the portfolio for Africa and Asia. Dean began his professional career as an International Economist at the Treasury Department, where he worked on financial and economic relations with Asia and the Middle East, including exchange rate negotiations, financial market liberalization, and funding related to the Gulf Crisis. Dean earned a BA from Wheaton in Philosophy, a Master's Diploma and M.Phil from Cambridge University in Development Economics.

Wengyik Yeong, Vice President

Wengyik’s background is in technology, with 12 years of involvement with various Internet technologies. Prior to joining Schoffstall Ventures, he was the Chief Technology Officer at Conducent Technologies, and before that, a Staff Scientist at PSINet.

In the past, Wengyik has worked on a variety of application and information technologies, and is the co-author of the original Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP, RFC1777 & RFC1778) specification. Wengyik is also responsible for one of the early implementations of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and has participated in various working groups of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the North American Directory Forum (NADF) on application and information services. In various capacities at PSINet and Conducent, Wengyik has operated information services ranging from DNS and X.500 to a large push server system for distributing online content to the PC desktop.
